What is Evolution?

Some early evolutionists, like Jean Baptiste de Lamarck and Erasmus Darwin (Charles's grandfather) believed that the existing species evolved into new species in a predetermined fashion. The term"transmutation" was coined by Lamarck's student, embryologist Etienne Geoffroy Saint-Hilaire to describe this view. Charles Lyell, in his Principles of Geology, published in 1833, criticized the idea of evolution, and borrowed the term from Geoffroy’s student.
More recently, evolutionary biologists have defined evolution as a process when living organisms develop traits that enhance their chances of survival, or their ability to produce offspring. As time passes, genetic variation can cause a population acquire new physical traits or biological functions. It has been rigorously studied and verified for many years. Many people, and even religious leaders, are in favor of the scientific theory. It is crucial to keep in mind that evolutionary biology doesn't interfere with religious beliefs since it only addresses physical objects, events, and processes.

What is Creationism?
Creationists are people who believe that God created the universe and everything within it. They also believe that the Bible is the word of God and should be taken seriously. Many creationists are Christians however, not all. Creationists typically fall into one of two categories: Young Earth creationists (YEC) and old earth creationists (OEC).
The most common kind of creationist is called the YEC. They believe that God created the universe in the exact way that is described in the Bible. YECs hold that the biblical account of the first six days of creation is literal and that the universe as well as life on Earth were created just recently.
OECs are less well known However, they're just as passionate about their beliefs as YECs. OECs believe the universe and Earth are billions of years old and believe that evolution is a myth.
Both forms of creationism deny that scientific principles such as biogenesis and natural selection could explain how life came to be on Earth. They claim that evolution is not possible because it requires a miracle, and that the founders of modern science rejected miracles out of fear of losing credibility.
Some creationists accept both naturalistic evolution and special creation, and call their position "theistic evolution." It is sometimes known as "continuous creationism" or "evolution from the created species." The theory suggests that God creates species from scratch and then allows these to evolve over time. These evolutionary changes eventually will result in new species that are similar to the original.
Others believe that God created the universe and all living things in a single event, referred to as the Great Flood. Creationists believe that the first species were all created at the same time and that they evolved gradually afterward. They also reject the idea of abiogenesis and claim that the self-replicating creation of organisms from nonliving matter is impossible.
In general, creationists oppose the teaching of evolution in schools. Numerous professional organizations such as the National Science Teachers Association and the Association for Science Teacher Education endorse this view, as do the American Anthropological Association and the Geological Society of America. However, certain researchers and educational institutions are more flexible and allow for the inclusion of creationism and evolution in their curricula.
What is Creationism?
When people think of creationism typically think of the United States. South Korea also has an anti-evolutionist group. Publishers of high school textbooks have recently announced that they will eliminate references to evolution from their editions. The Society for Textbook Revise, an independent body which is an offshoot of the Korea Association for Creation Research (KACCR) has been the driving force behind this effort. The STR has achieved its first victory by removing from textbooks examples of the evolution and ancestor of the bird, the Archeopteryx. It is now focusing on the removal of excerpts from Darwin's infamous finch research and on human evolution as well.
STR claims that it has the support of around 4000 families and individuals. Its goal, it says is to cleanse the world of what it calls "atheist materialism" which paints an image of students as being negative. It also hopes to combat the influence of American Creationists across the country. A survey of undergraduates studying biology found that half didn't believe in evolution. The reasons aren't certain, but could be related to religious beliefs or the absence of creation scientists in the United States.
The KACR has achieved many things in the past through seminars and lectures. It has a bimonthly news magazine, Creation, and has published books. One of them was an educational textbook on natural sciences with a cosmological perspective. This led to an interest in the college community. In 1991 the year 1991, a minister and professor began teaching Creation Science in one university, and it is taught to this day.
On August 7 and 8 in 1993, the same day that the World Expo opened in Daejeon, KACR held a second International Symposium on Creation Research. Six lecturers from the world, including ICR's John Morris, Duane Gish and Steven Austin spoke to audiences of several thousand. KACR and its members have given lectures on creation science in major seminaries too. KACR is planning to create a Creation Science Education Center.
